Harry and I finally got a Detroit Zoo membership. I love to go in the late summer and fall. The animlas are so active and busy. This was Conner's first zoo trip. That's pretty bad considring we live a mile away. I wanted to wait until he would appreciate the animals more. He really did. It was a great day and we only made it through half of the zoo!

This picture could have been taken at any point in the trip. He took it all in and pointed to everything in amazement. Lots of oohs and ahhhs.

This was supposed to be of both of the boys, but Conner saw a bird.

Our friend Krysten went with us. She loves the zoo. She loves Conner too! We just added her as an additonal child on our membership, even though she is well over the age limit. She still looks like a teenager.

One very large gorilla sat down right in front of us! He was so intimidating. I would probably drop dead on the spot to meet one in the wild.

When we came intot he Arctic Ring of life, the polar bear was just hanging out. By the time we made it to the underground observation tunnel he was ready for a dip.

Seeing the bears up close with super duty (i hope) plexiglass between you is breathtaking.
We could hear and feel the bear as he walked over head.

Big Big papa bear!

There has to be some sort of barrier between the seals and the bears. It must not be visible int he underground observation tunnel. I couldn't help but think that these bears could just have a little seal snack when they wanted.
end of the road, for this trip.

I'm so jealous. I wish we could have made it down there with the kids to visit the zoo. The little man looks like he enjoyed every minute of it. You look amazing by the way. I can tell you have lost tons of weight. You're picture looks great.
Oh Bonnie...what a gorgeous family!! Looks like a wonderful trip.
Love to all.

Do you always dress your boys in the same color? I know it's easier to find them if one decides to wonder off...
